Description

Wild carrots, also known as bird’s nest and bishop’s lace, is a white flowering plant found in temperate areas in Europe and Asia however has been naturalized in many other places. These plants have a long solid stem with a large cluster of small white flowers, almost resembling a chalice or an inside-out umbrella. The root is just like a cultivated carrot.

Although some parts of this plant may be edible to humans, animals including rats, horses, and other animals have shown sensitivities to wild carrot plants. Since there is conflicting information on whether small pets can become ill from wild carrot plants, we suggest calling your local vet or researching the difference between cultivated carrots and wild carrot plants as they are different subspecies.
