Weeping fig, commonly known as ficus, is a type of flowering tree. Known for its dropping branches and glossy leaves, it is a favorite to dove species. These are also one of the most popular house plants.

Despite their beauty and commonality, you should not feed weeping fig or ficus to your small animals. The major toxins in weeping fig trees are the proteolytic enzyme (ficin) and psoralen (ficusin).
