Description

Lantanas are a genus of perennial flowering plants in the verbena family. It contains both herbaceous plants and shrubs. Typically you can find these plants have clusters of small flowers, ranging from bright pink to purple, orange, yellow, red, and more. They also have small blur or black berries. The entirety of this plant is poisonous.

All parts of this plant is poisonous to most mammals including humans, horses, cattle, dogs, cats, rabbits, and more. If ingested, common symptoms include gastrointestinal issues, mouth irritation, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. Rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, and other small pets do not have the ability to vomit, therefore ingesting this plant can be extremely harmful as they cannot get rid of the plant in their system.
