Description

Inkberry, also known as Appalachian tea and Gallberry, is a species of evergreen holly typically found in the eastern part of North America. Inkberry has spineless, glossy, dark green leaves and small greenish white flowers that bloom in spring. Gallberry honey comes from this plant.

Inkberry berries are highly toxic to small animals. The fruit contains saponins which cause gastrointestinal issues in rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas and other small pets.
