Description
This plant is a herbaceous perennial plant that can get up to 6 1/2 feet, with heavily ribbed pointed leaves with small hairs underneath and numerous green or white flowers that grow above the leaves.
For Your Pet
False Hellebore and Veratrum species contain highly toxic chemical including steroidal alkaloids that cause cardiac arrest and respiratory failure if ingested in small animals, cattle, and humans. All parts of the plants are extremely poisonous.
