Description

Depending on where the plant is grown the plant can vary in size and color shades. The leaves you will find are lobed and around 6 or more inches long. These leaves can either be a light green or even have a dark red look. The plant births a prickly green-red shell with a small red flower on the top of it.

Castor beans contain ricin, a known toxin that can cause gastrointestinal issues in most living creatures including small pets, cattle, and humans. If ingested, castor beans will induce vomiting in some animals, severe diarrhea, and dehydration followed by low blood pressure. More symptoms of Ricin poisoning are seizures, kidney and liver failure if not taken care of immediately.

Warning

Do not feed you or your pet castor beans as it contains Ricin. Ricin is extremely toxic and can and will cause severe problems and even death.
